Abstract
Physiological discharge is often perceived by women of reproductive age as abnormal. If, however, a woman’s discharge is different from her normal then she should be assessed and treated appropriately.
This guidance should be used in settings where near-patient microscopy is unavailable. Consideration should be given to the referral of any woman presenting with discharge to a genitourinary medicine or sexual health service.
